today, an insight into the textbook of a chemical n life sciences student.

tianhock taught me the names of common everyday food with scientific names!! forget french, jap or italian.. tis is cooler.

rice: oryza sativa
tomato: lycopersicon esculentum
potato: solanum tuberosum
grapes: vitis vinifera
cauliflower: brassica oleracea var. botrytis
broccoli: brassica oleracea var. italica
cabbage: brassica oleracea var. capitata



tianhock's tomato hybrid: lycopersicon esculentum var. hockea
new n improved of the above: lycopersicon esculentum cv. hockea
- cv. is cultivated.. var. is naturally occuring.

if i name my own rose: rose canina ver. joy
if th names my rose: rosa miss joy aft vanda miss joaquim.
